Everyone brought the energy to the Floral Theater for the Floriexpo Special Events!

The Flower Naming Ceremony honors floral industry pioneers who have made a significant impact over the course of their career. This year’s recipient, Joep Paternostre, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bloomaker USA, is an exemplary model for what this award represents. The newly named flower, the Tiger Joep symbolizes Joep’s tenacity, leadership and entrepreneurship that he has brought to the floral industry.

Eight designers took to the stage for the beloved Iron Designer Competition. The theme this year, reflections of Wynwood Walls, had them bringing their A-game and creativity as they used only clippers and knives to create unique arrangements. Pieter Landman led the competitors as the crowd cheered and our panel of judges, Mark Frank, Mike Amschler and John Elgeest had the difficult task of choosing one winner.

This year’s Iron Designer Winner was Jennifer Butcher CFD, Floral Coordinator at Indianapolis Fruits. The Crowd Favorite went to Caroline Han Men, Sales Account Manager at Pacific Tradeworks.
